My Professional Background
I earned my Masters in Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy) from San Diego State University in 2020. My license is registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Since graduate school, I’ve worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings—including school and community-based programs, county nonprofit outpatient services serving underserved communities, and private practice. Over the past 10 years, I’ve supported children (ages 5–12), adolescents, adults, and families in both educational and clinical environments.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and major life transitions.
I am also a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) therapist, with extensive experience supporting clients who have endured trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression and relationship challenges. Additionally, I am a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and I work closely with parents and caregivers to strengthen connection, improve communication, and create lasting change in the home.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an elementary English teacher in Mexico City after completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2014. It was in the classroom that I realized my true calling—supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of the children and families I worked with. That experience ultimately guided me toward the path of becoming a therapist.
